GPS Field Crew Manager

We have long been recognized in the geospatial community as a leading provider of global Ground Control data, able to collect precise GPS survey ground control information in areas to support imagery or mapping requirements.

The Position: CompassData has an immediate opening for Global Positioning System (GPS) Field Crew Manager. This position will manage a crew of technical field surveyors to deliver accurate data, on time, according to specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Logistics Management – planning, control and implementation of field crews to exceed client expectations and management
• Technical Management and Support – work with the team members to ensure proper use of equipment, knowledge of deliverables, train on trouble shooting skills and help troubleshoot/lead the field crews remotely
• Job Costing and Budgeting - tracking expenses and budgets against job numbers ensure job profitability and provide solid reporting

Qualifications and Experience:

• Excellent communication and proven organizational skills
• Experience with personnel management and managing teams
• Must have extensive experience traveling and planning traveling on a budget
• Be able to read, interpret, and deliver Scope of Work (SOW) objectives.
• International travel and travel planning experience a must
• Experience and knowledge of Trimble or Leica survey equipment – be able to use, train and support on equipment and data collected
• Experience with geospatial data QA/QC
• Experience collecting GPS data in the field for GIS or survey projects
• Must be responsible and pay close attention to detail
• Experience with aerial and/or satellite imagery
• Two (2) plus years of experience in the geospatial sciences, civil engineering, or survey industry
• Bachelor’s degree in geology, geography/GIS, civil engineering, survey sciences, or related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

CompassData will provide training on current specification.
