The PositionWe are seeking an experienced LiDAR Analyst (Contractor) to support the processing and QA/QC of mobile mapping and aerial datasets. This is an hourly contract position with a full-time workload supported by multiple large programs. While this position is primarily based in our Englewood, CO office, hybrid or remote arrangements may be considered for highly qualified candidates. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience processing LiDAR and imagery data in a production environment, with a strong focus on mobile mapping workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Process LiDAR and imagery data from mobile mapping, UAV, and airborne platforms.
- Perform QA/QC at multiple stages of production to ensure accuracy and deliverable quality.
- Integrate ground control and GNSS/INS data to produce high-accuracy mapping products.
- Support mission planning and route analysis for mobile mapping projects.
- Manage data workflows, maintain documentation, and track project progress.
- Provide feedback on workflow improvements, software testing, and data automation.
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure deliverables meet client requirements.
Desired Experience & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Remote Sensing, or related field (advanced experience may substitute).
- 4+ years of geospatial industry experience, with at least 2+ years in Aerial or Mobile Lidar data processing.
- Strong understanding of LiDAR acquisition methods, formats, calibration, and classification techniques.
- Experience with QA/QC of large, complex datasets in a production environment.
- Proficiency with:
- GNSS/INS Georeferencing Software
- LiDAR processing software
- TerraSolid TerraScan
- Trimble Business Center
- ESRI ArcGIS Pro
- GlobalMapper Pro
- Civil3D or similar CAD tools
- Scripting or programming skills for data automation a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Compensation
- Hourly contract rate: $30-$45 per hour, commensurate with experience.
- This position is offered as a 2-year contract, with the potential to transition into continued contract work or a full-time salaried role upon completion.
